OPT North Sea Project Featured in ‘Offshore’ Energy Transition Trends Issue
Offshore magazine included a profile of OPT’s recent North Sea project with Premier Oil in its June/July 2020 “Energy Transition Trends” issue. The five-page article, “North Sea operators investigating wider roles in renewable energy,” highlights the seven-month deployment of a PB3 PowerBuoy® in Premier’s Huntington field, alongside a two-year Dutch renewable energy powered hydrogen pilot known as PosHYdon.
Offshore interviewed OPT UK & Europe Business Development Director Paul Watson and Premier Oil Decommissioning Lead Pieter voor de Poorte for the article, which addresses the particulars of the deployment. Included in the piece are background on the PB3 PowerBuoy®, discussion of the project’s goals, and details of the equipment, software, and performance.
